- D. Mane Institute of Pharmacy Hosts First Indo-Caribbean International Conference.
Kagal, 12th February 2025 – The Y. D. Mane Institute of Pharmacy, Kagal, in collaboration with the Association of Pharmacy Professionals, hosted its first Indo-Caribbean Conference on Pharmacy, marking a significant milestone for the institute. The event brought together distinguished speakers and professionals in the field of pharmacy, with a special focus on global drug design and discovery.
The conference featured keynote lectures from renowned experts, including Professor Rajiv Dahiya from The University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, Professor Vitthal Chopde from P. E. S. Modern College of Pharmacy, Nigdi, Pune, and Principal Mrinal Shirsat from KSS College of Pharmacy, Shikrapur, Pune.
Prof. Dahiya’s lecture on Global Trends in Drug Design, Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences captivated the audience, while Dr. Chopde discussed Drug Development Fundamentals and Computer-Aided Drug Design.
A poster presentation competition was also held as part of the conference. The competition was divided into two categories: diploma/degree and postgraduate/research scholar. In the diploma/degree category, Pratiksha Pandurang Patil took first place, Chetan Chaudhary secured second place, and Rituja Kamble claimed third place. In the postgraduate/research scholar category, Akshay Chavan won first place, Sheetal Kurhade came in second, and Vidya Patil took third.
The competition was judged by Dr. Vitthal Chopde and Principal Mrunal Shirsat, who provided valuable feedback on the students’ research presentations.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Pratap alias Bhaiyya Mane (Secretary), Mr. Sunil Mane (Vice President), Mr. Bipin Mane (Director), Mrs. Shilpa Patil (Y. D. Mane Campus Director), and Dr. Archana Mehrotra (Principal).
The conference proved to be a major success, offering participants a platform for intellectual exchange and collaboration in the field of pharmacy.
